Road Transport Management System (RTMS)
RTMS is an industry–led, government-supported, voluntary, self-regulation scheme that encourages road transport operators to implement a management system (a set of standards) that demonstrates compliance with Road Traffic Regulations and contributes to preserving road infrastructure, improving road safety and increasing productivity (www.rtms-sa.org).
The Anderson Transport RTMS accreditation demonstrates that Anderson Transport manages its road transport operations with due consideration to road safety, compliance and operational risks and that it poses a minimal risk to the road infrastructure, the environment, other road users and takes care of its drivers.
In summary, the Anderson Transport RTMS accreditation assures customers that:
- Our truck fleet is roadworthy and maintained to operating specifications.
- We adhere to load safety requirements and do not overload our trucks.
- Our truck drivers are well-trained and have passed all the required skills tests.
- Our record-keeping systems provide the required paper trail.
- We are legislatively compliant with regards to road safety, occupational health and safety, as well as the Department of Transport’s National Overload Control Strategy.
